PSPW
Polish Drilling Fluids Service - Polski Serwis Płynów Wiertniczych Sp. z o.o. (PSPW) was created by group of
people who had many years of experience with drilling mud and cement slurries gained in Polish Oil and Gas Institute (IGNiG) laboratories and in petroleum industry.
The employees of Polish Drilling Fluids Service are mainly former employees of Polish Oil and Gas Institute in Krakow. They had founded Mobile Mud Laboratory in IGNiG, that helped to solve problems related to drilling mud in the entire Polish territory and Baltic sea.
PSPW research workers co-operated in the development of such problems:
- deep well drilling in very difficult geological conditions, for example Paszowa 1 and Kuzmina 1 wells (over 7000 m. deep)mud technology design for drilling in Zechstein formations containing H2S
- drilling mud and completion fluids design and maintenance for directional wells
- developing special mud for drilling hydrotechnical wells and sealing materials for use in coal , sulphur and ore mines
The basic form of PSPW activity in the latest period was the drilling fluid servicing and mud material delivery.
PSPW had serviced about 300 wells drilled in the entire Polish territory , Baltic sea and abroad (Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia). Most of these wells were drilled in difficult geological conditions. Many of them were directional, with high off vertical angle, some of offshore wells drilled by "Petrobaltic" on the Baltic sea were almost horizontal. Moreover, PSPW services mud used for drilling horizontal wells under river bottom to conduct pipelines or telecommunication lines.
